Pixel 7 Front Camera Could Lay The Foundation For A New Security Feature

Pixel 6A is almost not at the door, so, not surprising, leaking about Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro has begun to flow. Of course, Google is the biggest source of information last May when teasing and confirming the design of the 7th generation Pixel mobile phone. The teaser does not include specifications, but in addition to the usual improvement to the memory and silicon of Google Next-Gen, there are no too many new things that are expected to be added to Pixel 7, at least there is nothing we know so far. Changes and improvements may be smooth, but one particular component may also regulate the stages for a safe facial unlock system that is long awaited for pixels.

The first generation Google Pixel took the market because of its extraordinary camera output despite the mediocre camera hardware. The combination of hardware and photography software is a special Google sauce, which unfortunately makes it not increase its sensor as fast as the remaining market. Not until Pixel 6 years ago finally raised a higher bar, but it seemed to be attached to his weapon a little longer.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will, according to a new leak, keep the same camera determined by its predecessor. That means the same 50MP Samsung GN1 as the main camera and 12MP Sony IMX381 is the same as the ultra-wide shooter. The only difference this year is reportedly the Samsung GM1 which replaces the Sony IMX355 for telephoto, but both are 48MP sensors with the same ability.

The camera facing forward resistant to the future

Cuban developer Wojciekechowski recently published a series of tweets that revealed the details they allegedly found in the Google code, and the most interesting happy news was the alleged use of the Samsung 3J1 11MP sensor for the front camera of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro model. Last year, only Pixel 6 Pro got a camera like that, while Pixel 6 got stock with 8MP sensors. This not only allows 4K video recording for selfies, but also set a stage for future facial unlock features.

Samsung 3J1 has a dual-Pixel (DPAF) autofocus focus that is usually used for portrait modes or bokeh effects. However, this can also be used to unlock faces that are more accurate and safe, something that is not owned by a pixel phone for several generations today. Pixel 6 Pro also has a DPAF, but makes it available for pro and non-pro this year shows that Google will make the security feature as a standard. Different Android manufacturers have the implementation of their own face to open the face, but not many have the same reliability as Apple’s face ID.

Tipster also claims that the upcoming pixel tablets will use the same 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor for the front and rear cameras. This sensor has been on the market since Pixel 3 in 2018 and unfortunately nothing can be written at home today. It only strengthens the expectations of Pixel tablets as more than cellular smart appearance than tablets that can compete with the best Apple and Samsung.
